The Jefferson Parish Public School System is currently seeking a new superintendent.

The system continues to grow, serving approximately 45,000 students in 88 schools, including advanced academies, magnet schools, alternative learning centers, and charter schools.

To aid in selecting a new superintendent, the School Board has contracted with the recruiting firm of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates to conduct a national search.

An advertisement for the open position has already been placed with several national educational publications.

HYA is requesting that as many Jefferson Parish citizens complete an online survey to assist them with this project.  See the online survey link below.

In early September, representatives from HYA will conduct meetings to gather information from the Jefferson Parish community to determine the key attributes the community would like in the next superintendent.

HYA representatives will conduct meetings on Wednesday, September 7 at the system’s Westbank Community School  at 2590 Barataria Blvd., Marrero and Thursday, September 8 at Bonnabel Magnet Academy High School at 2801 Bruin Dr., Kenner between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. each day to hear from parents, citizens, business representatives, political leaders, and any other interested parties.

Please see the links below for a meeting date, time, location, and hourly schedule.  The schedule has been developed for maximum flexibility to allow anyone to meet with the HYA representatives either day and at almost any hour.
