District Information

The Jefferson Parish Public School System is one of the largest districts in the state and is nationally ranked in the top 100 for student enrollment.

There are 88 schools located on the east and west banks of Jefferson Parish with a total enrollment of 44,844 students. Pre-kindergarten has 2,689 students with the remaining 42,155 in grades kindergarten through 12.

Employees total 6,239, of which 3,494 are teachers. JPPSS is proud to have 95% of its teachers certified, which is one of the highest percentages in the state of Louisiana. The system also has 152 nationally board certified teachers, which is the most in the state of Louisiana.
